  • Fiber Arts

Since the start of the pandemic, it’s become a generally known fact that stitching and creating help soothe the soul while we create beautiful items for ourselves and others. It has been proven to lower blood pressure! Be part of a circle of fellow creators for inspiration and support – stitching together is a way of forming deep friendships around a common interest. There’s no better way to learn.

    Beginning Crochet

Join me in learning the basic stitches of crochet, the right way. We’ll move on quickly into the variations and uses of many stitches as you crochet a simple afghan, one square at a time. Or use the stitches to make a special scarf or anything else you’d like to create. Gain experience in reading written instructions and patterns as well as graphs. Take your crocheting up to the next level in fourteen one hour live classes on Zoom, along with videos you can watch as many times as needed.

    Beginning Knitting

Do those needles intimidate you? Don’t be fooled – it’s not that hard! Learn to knit continentally (known as picking) with me as we master basic stitches and experience reading patterns to make useful items such as a scarf, hat, shawl, socks if you like. I’ll host live classes and provide you with videos to watch as often as you need to watch. Before you know it, you’ll be an intermediate knitter!

    Beginning Quilting

Let me show you how to make quilts with modern machine methods that will have you using your first quilt before you know it! We create a sampler that includes the most common units that make up quilt blocks utilizing rotary cutters and fast techniques. You’ll have live classes and videos to walk you through all the steps of creating a work of fiber art!

    Beginning Sewing

Have you always wanted to make items for yourself to wear or to enhance your home? Do you have a sewing machine that’s still in the box, wrapped in plastic and styrofoam, because you don’t know where to start? This class will get you going while you make simple, straight line seams to create useful projects. As always, there will be live sessions and videos to guide your progress.

    Embroidery

Do you like to work with your hands? Do you love color and design? Then embroidery is for you. We’ll sit and stitch and I’ll introduce you to all sorts of embroidery work. Whether you want to make intricate thread paintings for the wall, a crazy quilt, or to simply enhance a pair of jeans, this quiet work will provide many hours of peace and enjoyment.

    Handwork

This Circle is for those of us who love quiet stitching together with others. Embroidery, applique, sewing, knitting, crochet, whatever is in the works. This allows you to set aside time to work on that project you love and want to see finished. Come find space to create!

The General Circles (Knitting, Sewing, Crochet, Embroidery, Handwork, Quiltng)

Join a Circle with fellow stitchers of any level who meet to stitch and share ideas, patterns, projects, etc. Be with us to find inspiration and a way to dedicate an hour to your special project, whatever it might be, in a safe space.
